Adding Announcements
  1. Click on "Announcements" in the Sidebar Modules section on the left sidebar. 
  2. Create an announcements list by filling in the "Announcement List Name" field and pressing "Save." (skip steps 1 and 2 if you already have an announcement list) 
  3. Choose an announcement list and click on "Manage Announcements."
  4. Title your announcement.
  5. Choose a picture for your announcement if desired. 
  6. Type in the details of your announcement.
  7. You can then optionally set a start and end date for when you want your announcement to appear and disappear on the sidebar. To do this, click on the blank field and then select the dates on the calendar. 
  8. Determine the announcement's order on the list by clicking on the "Order" drop down. 
  9. Click on the "Save" button.

    (To get the announcements module to show up on your website, you have to add it to one of your sidebar module layouts)

Editing Announcements

  1. Click on "Announcements" in the Sidebar Modules section on the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the "Manage Announcements" button of the announcement list that contains the announcement that you want to edit.
  3. Under the subheading "Edit/Delete Announcements" in the Manage Announcements section at the bottom of the page, click on the green pencil next to the announcement that you want to edit. 
  4. You can now edit your announcement by entering new text to change the title, choosing a new picture, entering new announcement details in the text editor, changing the announcement start and end dates and the announcement order. 
  5. Click on the "Update" button.

    (To edit the entire announcement list instead, click on the green pencil next to the announcement list.)


Delete Announcements

  1. Click on "Announcements" in the Sidebar Modules section on the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the "Manage Announcements" button of the announcement list that contains the announcement that you want to delete.
  3. Under the "Edit/Delete" subheading in the Manage Announcements section at the bottom of the page, press the red X next to the announcement that you want to delete.

    4.  The announcement will be deleted. 
    ( To delete the entire announcement list instead, press the red X next to the announcement list. )



Start/End Dates


You can set a start and end date for your announcement at two different times. Either during the creation of the announcement or when you edit it. Both times it is done in the same way.

In the "Annoucement Starts (optional)" area you can set a start date for when you want your announcement to appear in your sidebar.

Setting the date can be down by clicking on the drop-downs and picking your day, month, and year

 

Both of these options are optional.

Once you have finished with the announcement then click on either the save announcement button if its a new announcement or update announcement if you are editing the announcement.

Adding Pictures to Announcements:




There are two methods to add a picture to an announcement.

1. The first method is to use the default picture section for the announcement. This section will auto-format the picture to fit in the spacealloted for the announcement. This can be done by clicking on the on the choose file or browse button depending on which broswer you are using.

This will create an announcement with the picture above the details like seen below.

2. The second method is to use the insert image button that is built into announcement text editor. This is the same process that you have used on with the text editor everywhere else on your website.

This will allow you to insert the picture above, below, or in the middle of the detail. However, this method may require you to resize the picureto fit in the allotted space for the announcement. Below is an example of how the announcement will look using this method.

Once you have finished with the announcement then click on either the save announcement button if its a new announcement or update announcement if you are editing the announcement.
